The Council for Higher Education Accreditation Announces Four Higher Education Leaders Join its Board of Directors

(Washington, D.C.) —WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) announced today that Jonathan Gueverra, Ed.D., Michael Horowitz, Ph.D., Eduardo M. Ochoa, Ph.D., and DeRionne P. Pollard, Ph.D., have joined CHEA’s Board of Directors.

During its recent Board of Directors meeting, Dr. Gueverra, Dr. Horowitz, Dr. Ochoa, and Dr. Pollard were each unanimously chosen to serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2024.

“This is an essential moment in higher education accreditation and institutional advancement. During this critical juncture, the CHEA Board welcomes the insightful vision and extensive institutional experience brought to it from Dr. Gueverra, Dr. Horowitz, Dr. Ochoa, and Dr. Pollard,” said CHEA Board Chair Gena Glickman, Ph.D., President Emerita of Manchester Community College. “Their diverse backgrounds and leadership in higher education will significantly contribute to CHEA’s mission and the broader higher education accreditation community’s goals.”

Jonathan GuevarraJonathan Gueverra, Ed.D., is the sixth President and CEO of The College of the Florida Keys, Key West, FL.

 

HorowitzMichael Horowitz, Ph.D., is Chancellor of The Community Solution Education System, Chicago, IL., and has more than 30 years of experience in higher education.
 

Eduardo OchoaEduardo M. Ochoa, Ph.D., is President Emeritus at California State University, Monterey Bay, and Former U.S. Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education.
 

DeRionne PollardDeRionne P. Pollard, Ph.D., is the eighth president of Nevada State University, Henderson, NV, and is the first permanent Black female president of a Nevada System of Higher Education institution.
