Report: Federal Policies That Could Help Transfer (Inside Higher Ed, December 8, 2020) "Community college students lose 40 percent of their credits upon transferring, on average, according to the memo. To solve this problem, policy makers can use the accreditation process to change how college credits are counted in transfer by requiring that all colleges under the same accreditor accept at least general education credits from other member institutions. Policy makers can also incentivize statewide articulation agreements by tying federal funding to mandates to develop such agreements."

Bennett College Is a Step Closer to Gaining Full Accreditation by TRACS (Diverse Issues in Higher Education, December 6, 2020) "Bennett College—the small, private historically Black college for women headquartered in Greensboro, N.C.—has been granted candidate status by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and School (TRACS) an organization that accredits higher education institutions. The achievement, announced by college officials last week, comes two years after Bennett’s accreditation was revoked by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) which noted declining enrollment and financial deficits as primary reasons."

Study Recommends State Colleges Unify, Receive Millions in Extra Funding (VT Digger [Vermont], December 6, 2020) "The report recommends the three schools that offer bachelor’s degrees combine into one institution, with one leadership team and a single accreditation."
