Council for Higher Education Accreditation Introduces New Fellow, J. André Foisy

J. André FoisyThe Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is pleased to announce J. André Foisy as the fourth Fellow with the organization. 

Mr. Foisy is currently a Ph.D. student in the Educational Policy and Leadership department at the State University of New York at Albany. He is the Executive Director of Institutional Outcomes Assessment at Excelsior College and was the Past President of the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) in 2021-2022. At Excelsior College, Mr. Foisy leads the Outcomes Assessment unit and facilitates the institution’s processes to assess student learning. As Past President of AALHE, a national member-based association, Foisy worked to support a community of educators and to inform assessment practices in higher education.

Mr. Foisy completed his Master of Arts degree in the Social Sciences at the University of Chicago and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and American Students at the State University of New York at Buffalo

"It is an honor to have been selected as a CHEA Fellow," Mr. Foisy said. "I look forward to learning more about the important role of accreditation in higher education in the U.S. and around the globe. I hope to contribute to the existing scholarship on this important topic."

The CHEA Fellows Program provides senior-level graduate students with experiences in higher education accreditation, policy development, recognition processes for accrediting organizations, nonprofit board oversight and operations, communications, business finance and government affairs. The Fellows Program is available only to graduate students enrolled in colleges and universities that are current CHEA members.
