CHEA Announces its 2023 CHEA Fellow Annie Everett

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation Announces Annie Everett as its 2023 CHEA Fellow Everett to focus on higher education accreditation, administration, and policy issues.

Annie EverettWashington, D.C. – The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) announces today that Annie Everett, a Pennsylvania State University senior-level graduate student was selected as its 2023 CHEA Fellow. 
 
Everett is completing her second year in Penn State’s Higher Education program. Her experience includes providing administrative support focused on student learning outcomes at a variety of postsecondary institutions in the U.S. She has conducted extensive higher education research centered on the impact of public accountability on the construction of institution-level student outcomes; the role of policy diffusion and legitimacy in the spread of accreditation policy in the U.S.; and the connections between institutional commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and campus spending tied to DEI. 

“We are delighted that Ms. Everett will bring her experience and insights in higher education to the CHEA team,” said Cynthia Jackson Hammond, President of CHEA. “The CHEA Fellows Program provides a wonderful opportunity for Annie to learn the recognition process for accrediting organizations, policy development, nonprofit Board oversight and operations, communications, business and finance and government affairs.” 
 
During the eight-week program, Ms. Everett will report to CHEA Vice President for Recognition Services, Loretta Waldron.

Ms. Everett will begin her work at CHEA’s Washington, D.C. offices on Monday, May 1, 2023.
