Florida Senate Passes a Watered-Down Slate of Higher Education Changes (Tampa Bay Times, April 28, 2023) The Senate bill would permit diversity, equity, and inclusion programs if an accreditor requires them and topics like race and gender would be allowed in higher level classes, but subject to review. The Florida Senate approved a bill proposing major changes at state colleges and universities, but with recently added provisions that make the legislation less dramatic than the House version.
